Krishoker Eid Ananda is one of the most popular entertainment programmes on TV during Eid festivals, Krishoker Eid Ananda (KEA), planned, directed and hosted by Shykh Seraj. This year’s (Eid ul Azha 2016) KEA was held in Manikganj’s Joymontop. The selection of this region for KEA has been determined as it’s the most fertile region of our country, where rivers Padma-Jamuna-Dhaleshwari-Ichhamoti have flown across. The district also has huge prospect in agriculture and has a legendary background for its cultural heritage. Hiralal Sen, considered the first-ever filmmaker in the sub-continent was born in this district. Language martyr Rafique, renowned film actor Khan Ataur Rahman, eminent litterateur Munir Chowdhury were also born in Manikganj. Many popular films, shot in Manikganj, from 50s to 80s, featured sturdy farmers, farmlands, riverine Bangladesh. To bring all these great happenings, KEA has worked quite in-depth and hence selected Manikganj. This KEA featured as always rural sports and untold stories of the region.
